The Vermont Folklife Center is currently seeking to fill the position of Director of Education and is inviting candidates to submit materials for the Jane Beck Folklife Fellowship.
The Vermont Folklife Center (VFC) in Middlebury, VT is seeking applicants for a full-time Director of Education.
The Director of Education is an integral member of the VFC staff whose primary responsibility is to administer our statewide education program that couples place- and project-based education to ethnographic theory and methods, cultural documentation, and digital media production. In addition the Director of Education participates in general VFC programming and planning activities. The VFC education program includes our annual Discovering Community Summer Institute for Educators, ongoing partnerships with Vermont schools and institutions of higher education, formal and informal workshops, public presentations related to Vermont culture and traditional cultural practice, and our internship program.

The Jane Beck Folklife Fellowship provides a dissertating or a recent Ph.D. or MA graduates in Folklore Studies, Ethnomusicology or a related ethnographic discipline with one year of financial support and substantive work experience in one of the programmatic areas of the Vermont Folklife Center. The Jane Beck Folklife Fellow must reside Vermont and complete the majority of their work hours on site at the Vermont Folklife Center offices in Middlebury, VT.
The Archival Fellowship focuses on eligible applicants with academic training or professional experience with archives. The Archival Fellowship also accepts applications from recent MLS/MLIS/MAS graduates with demonstrated interest in - or experience working with - ethnographic archives.
