George E. Little, Jr.

Little, George E. Jr. of Burlington, Chittenden County, Republican, was born in Burlington, Vermont on September 8, 1921. He is married to the former Elaine Burns, and they have one daughter and three sons. Occupation: printer. He was educated in schools in Burlington; University of Vermont (B.A., 1943); graduate work at Carnegie-Mellon (1946-67). He is director and former chair of the Chittenden Bank; former trustee of the University of Vermont, 1968-74; and a former trustee and chair of Trinity College of Vermont. He has been a Burlington alderman, 1961-67; former chair of the Vermont Board of Social Welfare; and chair of the Vermont Higher Education Planning Commission, 1981-83. He served in the U.S. Air Force, 1943-46 and is a Lt. Col. In the Air Force Reserve (retired). Member of the House from District 1-8; 1969-70, 1971-72. Member of the Senate: 1983-84, 1985-86, 1987-88, 1989-90, 1991-92.
