Police Policy for Undocumented Foreign Nationals
In September 2007 the Middlebury selectboard adopted a policy for police procedure that was developed by Middlebury Police Chief Tom Hanley. This panel brings together Chief Hanley, Middlebury Selectman Craig Bingham, and Vermont Commissioner of Public Safety Tom Tremblay to discuss both Middlebury’s policy and state police policy regarding undocumented foreign nationals statewide.

Critically acclaimed, award-winning novelist Julia Alvarez, will read selections from her new novel, Return to Sender. Focusing on immigration, migrant workers, and a Vermont farming family, the book captures the raw emotion surrounding this timely subject matter by telling the story through the questioning innocence of children.
