Vermont Folklife Center Education Program
The Vermont Folklife Center is a cultural research and public programming organization that since 1984 has amassed a significant body of material documenting the traditional culture of Vermont and the surrounding region.
Our archive contains over 4000 audio recordings made with Vermonters from all walks of life, with a special concentration on farm life and rural experience. These primary resource materials have been generated by and have served as a basis for award-winning radio series, video projects, exhibitions, curriculum materials, teacher workshops, in-service training programs, and a wide variety of publications.
Our public programming has been developed to deepen Vermonters' knowledge and appreciation of our state's rich cultural heritage--past and present--while our educational outreach efforts are structured to help teachers and students draw on this heritage as a resource for classroom instruction.
